Skye Basecamp is open year round and we’re happy to offer exclusive use of the hostel to groups out with the main season! Simply get in touch a few months before with your needs and we’ll let you know what we can offer.
What we offer
We know how hard it can be to organize a large group activity, so let us take the stress out of your life by offering you a warm, casual, affordable alternative to the Bed and Breakfasts or hotels of the island. We are a perfectly positioned hostel on the main road of Skye with up to 35 beds available, a choice of en-suite rooms and room sizes ranging from 2-5 people per room. The building itself has a fully equipped kitchen, large communal lounge (including a pool table), hot showers, on-site laundry and a dry-room. We’re located just 5 minutes walk from the nearest supermarket and just 5 minutes walk from the nearest bus stop, with a plethora of food options nearby. Our big sister company is Skye Guides, the largest mountain guiding company on Skye, so if you’re interested in adding a unique adventure to your visit you can book one of our guides for walking, scrambling & rock climbing.
Who is this for?
While usually we have an age limit of 16+, exclusive use bookings have no age limit! So whether you’re a family hoping to have a getaway on the misty Isle or a school group travelling up to the Highlands for a few days, we’re more than happy to help. In the past we’ve catered to groups from a variety of different places such as sports groups, university research groups, geology groups, winter climbing enthusiasts, photography lovers and even a few travelling musician groups.
